PS5 Announcement

Howdy folks!

We’re excited to finally announce that Star Trucker is coming to PlayStation 5 on JUNE 10!

In addition to the PlayStation 5 launch, a new game update will also deliver several quality of life upgrades and new features to further enhance players’ galaxy-hopping trucking experience.

Hauling with a Dual Sense

We’ve also taken advantage of some extra PS5 Dual Sense features to provide some extra immersion and indicators…

CB Mic Imitation

By default your controller will be set up to act eerily similar to a real CB mic handset. You’ll hear other characters talk to you via the controller speaker and use the triggers to press the mic button allowing you to respond when needed.

For those who’d prefer this audio to route through a TV or sound system there is an option to disable the feature in the Audio Settings.

Lightbar indicator

The controller light bar has been set up to show different light colours and animations based on the game state.

• Off = No trailer attached + not wearing your space suit + no major truck issues

• White = You’re in your space suit

• Purple = You’re hitched to cargo

• Green = The hitched cargo is within the dropzone

• Dark Cyan = Your truck is docked

• Red = You have a problem ( but are not hitched, docked or in space suit )

It will flash under the following circumstances…

• Low Oxygen

• Low Fuel

• Low Energy ( Suit )

• Extreme Temperature

The lightbar will also pulse if your truck is docked and has a bespoke red / blue animated sequence during Security Checks.

We’ve also made sure you can disable this feature in the Controls Settings.

On a more personal note, we just want to say that we’re super excited for our (not so little) indie game finally roll out onto PS5 and we’re looking forward to welcoming new console players into the incredible Star Trucker community.
